Nigel Linacre BEM, Founder and Chair of WellBoring

Working on UKAID and World Bank projects, Nigel formed a wish to help schools. The greatest problem seemed to be the lack of reliable safe water. He started with water for one school community in 2011. The first borewell. Benjamin Koyoo’s GroundWater NGO was already working on the problem. He emphasized the need to work with communities as active participants in fixing the water problem. A perfect fit. He set out to get safe water to 100 schools. He did it. Now over 500 schools have safe water. Well over a quarter of a million lives transformed. Wellboring is now aiming to get safe water to 1,000 schools and communities. At an average of 1,000 beneficiaries per well, that’s water for a million people. With your help, we will get there.

Nigel writes 'A heartfelt thank you to our generous donors, our dedicated volunteer team in the North, and our exceptional team in Africa. Together, we are changing the world, one well at a time.'
